I've downloaded Junk-Store, how do I receive support?

Firstly, read through the FAQ questions on this page to see if they answer your query. If you can't find your answer here, your next step would be to read through the Troubleshooting page. If neigher of those pages helps solve your issue, then you can have a look at our community on r/JunkStore or join us in the Junk-Store discord server.

Do I have to pay to use Junk-Store?

No, Junk-Store is completely free to download and use. While there are benefits for paid supporters, the basic functionality is available to all users at no cost.

Am I able to play Fortnite?

Unfortunately, Epic Games does not support Fortnite on Linux. This means our plugin cannot magically enable Fortnite gameplay on SteamOS.

Epic Games' decision stems from their refusal to enable anti-cheat functionality for Linux operating systems.

Please refrain from requesting assistance with Fortnite compatibility on SteamOS, as these requests will not be addressed.

Am I able to play Kingdom Hearts?

As many of you are aware, this is not a unique issue with Junk-Store.

This is not something that has been tested or investigated as I don't own a copy myself. From what I can gather, it is a significant issue, beyond what I am willing to look into at the moment.

It's important to understand that this incompatibility is not due to any issue with our plugin. Kingdom Hearts, in particular, faces challenges beyond our control, as many gamers have encountered difficulties running it on Linux.

Does cheat deck work with Junk-Store?

The launch options for Epic games are quite sensitive, and we've invested over 100 hours in researching and reverse engineering to reach this point. If CheatDeck is manipulating launch options, we cannot predict the potential consequences, so attempting to implement this feature may lead to unintended issues. Due to the complexity involved, we're hesitant to pursue this feature further.

However, if you're determined to make it work, the extension scripts are open and designed to be more accessible than plugin code. Feel free to experiment and try to implement it yourself. If you submit a suitable pull request, we'll be happy to merge it for general use.

Does cloud saves work?

Please not that Not all games in Epic have cloud save support.

While support for this feature exists in Legendary, I have not implemented it yet. Cloud saves is still eperimental for Junk Store as we don't feel our solution is stable enough to give out to users. which is why we have it locked behind a Patreon tier. This is big problem to try and solve to a level where users won't be upset disappointed by probable data loss. It is something we are looking into and trying to solve, however the soltions that are currently out there that we can leverage all come with large caveats.

If this is something you desire, you can manually configure it from the CLI for each game, or customize the Epic extensions script to add this feature. Alternatively, if you would like us to prioritize features like this, please refer to FAQ's on feature requests below.

Do games that require third party launchers work?

While support for this feature exists in Legendary, I have not implemented it yet as I don't have any games that require third-party launchers in my personal library to test against. Since this feature is not high on my personal priority list, I have not made any progress towards enabling games that require third-party launchers.

How do I use thirdparty launchers with Epic?

Does Junk Store automatically install DLC content too?

Yes, at the moment will automatically install DLC content by default.

How do I move games to my SD card?

Moving games to an SD card is not currently supported. Implementing this feature is a significant task that requires careful consideration to meet user expectations. It has been added as a feature request and is in the development queue.

How do I submit bug report?

We appreciate your help in identifying and resolving issues! Please submit any bugs you encounter through our GitHub page. This ensures that they are properly tracked and managed.

I want X feature, can you add it?

You have a few options around getting features added: 1) We accept pull requests if code it yourself. 2) If you don't know how to code you can pay someone a bounty to do it. 3) Or you can support Junk Store via Patreon, Ko-fi or GitHub and we can do it for you.

How do I submit a feature request?

We value your input! Please submit feature requests through our GitHub page, where they can be properly tracked and managed. Feature requests submitted through GitHub receive priority consideration.

How are feature requests prioritized for implementation in the project?

Initially, Junk-Store was developed based on the creator's requirements and needs. However, as the project gained traction and more users began utilizing it, additional consideration has been given to accommodating the needs of the broader user base.

Moving forward, priority will be placed on suggestions from supporters, although not all features may be feasible to implement due to various constraints.

Supporting the project through platforms like Patreon, Ko-fi, or GitHub can help elevate your feature requests and influence their consideration in future updates. Your support plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the project.

How can I help with testing?

To join the testing effort, simply head over to the Testing channel on discord and express your interest in helping out. We appreciate your willingness to contribute!
